The company is registered with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) as a Money Services Business (MSB) and licensed by state money transmitter regulators under NMLS ID 1906829.

Our legal entity and regulatory foundation
Binance.US is the trade name of BAM Trading Services, Inc., a U.S.-incorporated company operating exclusively in the United States and its authorized territories[2].
BAM Trading Services, Inc. and Binance Holdings Limited (doing business as “Binance.com”) share common majority ownership, while maintaining separate and independent corporate or management structures.
Corporate history and founding
Binance.US launched in September 2019 as the regulated U.S. digital asset platform purpose-built to serve American residents[3]. BAM Trading Services, Inc. received its FinCEN Money Services Business registration on June 11, 2019.
Binance.US opened public trading on September 24, 2019 with 7 cryptocurrencies across 13 trading pairs. Today, the company supports 200+ cryptocurrencies and operates the largest major U.S. staking platform by number of supported assets.
Binance.US operates independently, licensing the Binance brand and industry-leading technology stack from Binance Holdings Limited and affiliates.
Federal regulatory licensing
Binance.US is registered with FinCEN as a Money Services Business (MSB), the foundational federal requirement for offering centralized cryptocurrency exchange services to U.S. residents[10].
As an MSB, Binance.US maintains a rigorous Bank Secrecy Act compliance program. The company verifies customer identity through KYC at onboarding, screens every transaction against OFAC sanctions lists, monitors account activity continuously, and reports suspicious activity to FinCEN through Suspicious Activity Reports. All anti-money laundering controls operate across the exchange and apply to every account.
The compliance program is documented on the Compliance Page.
State money transmitter licensing
As of June 2026, Binance.US holds money transmitter licenses (MTLs) across 32 U.S. states and territories[1]. State licensing requires rigorous examinations of the company's internal controls, security, compliance, and risk programs.
State availability may change based on approvals. Binance.US publishes the current list of supported states and regions at all times.
U.S.-based custody architecture
Binance.US stores all customer assets in U.S.-based custody. Most digital assets stay offline in cold storage with a small percentage remaining in circulation to support everyday transactions.
Binance.US operates as a full-reserve platform. Customer crypto holdings are maintained 1:1, with segregated accounting that separates customer assets from corporate funds.

Security and compliance audits
Binance.US holds a SOC 2 Type II attestation, completed in January 2026 by an independent third-party audit firm[6]. The audit examines security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy controls over an extended period, not a single point in time[11].
Binance.US meets ISO 27001:2022 and ISO 27701:2019 certification requirements for information security and privacy.
