What are maker and taker fees?
Maker and taker fees are the two rates that set the cost of your trade on the exchange, based on how your order meets the order book.
- A maker order adds liquidity: it rests on the order book until it fills, so you pay the lower maker fee.
- A taker order removes liquidity: it fills immediately against an existing order, so you pay the taker fee.
Limit orders that stay on the order book are usually makers, while market orders are usually takers.
On the Tier 0 pair (only BNB/USD at this time), Binance.US charges a 0% maker fee and a 0.01% taker fee, no matter how much you trade. On all other pairs, the rate is 0% maker and 0.02% taker, which lowers to 0.01% taker once your 30-day trading volume hits $500 million or more.
