Binance.US is operated by BAM Trading Services Inc., a licensed and regulated United States cryptocurrency exchange platform that enables American residents to securely buy, sell, trade, and stake digital assets with fiat on-ramp capabilities, U.S.-based custody, and regulatory compliance.

Is it safe to buy XRP?
Yes, it's safe to buy XRP on Binance.US. Binance.US is operated by BAM Trading Services Inc., registered with FinCEN as a money services business [1], licensed as a money transmitter in 32 states [2], and independently audited to the SOC 2 Type II standard [3]. User assets, including XRP, are held 1:1 in U.S.-based custody, with the majority in offline cold storage. Two-factor authentication is required on every account for extra security.
XRP's price can move sharply in either direction, so buy only what you could comfortably hold through a fall.

How to keep your XRP safe after you buy?
After you buy XRP, you can securely hold, manage, trade, or withdraw it to a wallet of your choice, including the self-custodial Binance.US Web3 Wallet. Turn on whitelisting to limit withdrawals to addresses you have already saved and approved.
Binance.US also monitors withdrawals, deposits, and account changes like 2FA resets or password updates in real time, and automatically suspends withdrawals for up to 120 hours if something looks suspicious.

Do you need a destination tag to send or receive XRP?
Yes, you need a destination tag for receiving XRP on Binance.US, and for sending it to an exchange or other shared platform.
Binance.US calls this field the memo. A destination tag, or memo, is a number that tells a shared XRP Ledger address which customer a payment belongs to. Binance.US supports XRP on the XRP Ledger only.
To receive XRP, copy both the deposit address and the memo from your Binance.US account. To send XRP, enter the tag the receiving platform gives you.
If a supported deposit arrives without its memo, the Deposit Recovery tool may still credit it, minus a 5% processing fee. A withdrawal sent with a missing or wrong tag cannot be recovered. A personal wallet you control usually needs no tag.
Every XRP Ledger address must hold a small reserve of XRP that it cannot send. XRP sent to a brand-new address must at least cover that reserve.
What can you do with XRP after you buy it?
From your Binance.US account you can hold XRP, sell it, or trade it.
XRP has two trading pairs on Binance.US, XRP/USD and XRP/USDT, so you can move between XRP and other assets without leaving the platform.
You can also withdraw XRP to a wallet you control on the XRP Ledger. See the supported networks list for current XRP transfer details.

How much XRP do you need to buy?
Binance.US lets you buy XRP starting at $2. You can buy a fraction rather than a whole coin. Check the live XRP price to see what your amount is worth.

The questions below answer what people ask most before their first purchase, from safety and how much to start with, to fees, timing, taxes, and identity verification.
A beginner can start with as little as $2, since Binance.US lets you buy a fraction of an XRP. There's no right amount for everyone, so let your budget and goals set the size of your first purchase. Add more over time with recurring buys if you'd like.

Yes. Each XRP is divided into one million units called drops. On Binance.US you can spend any amount from $2 and receive part of a coin. Learn more about how XRP works in our XRP guide.
Fund your account by bank transfer (ACH), which costs nothing, then pick how to buy. The one-step Buy option is the simplest and includes a small spread. Advanced (Spot) Trading, where XRP trades as XRP/USD and XRP/USDT, charges 0% maker and 0.02% taker on most pairs, falling to 0.01% taker once your 30-day volume reaches $500 million; paying those fees in BNB takes off a further 5%.
Yes. Binance.US lets you add funds instantly with a debit or credit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay, and then use that balance to buy XRP. Card deposits cost 3.99%, and your card issuer may charge its own fees on top.
Usually a few minutes: once your account is verified and funded, an XRP order fills straight away. Card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay deposits arrive instantly, and ACH deposits nearly as fast. The XRP is yours to trade at once, but if you funded with ACH, debit, or Apple Pay, the USD value can't be withdrawn for 7 days. See the buy hub for funding timelines by method, or read why there's a 7-day hold.
For U.S. tax purposes XRP counts as property: selling it, converting it to another asset, or spending it can produce a gain or loss you report, while buying XRP and holding it is generally not taxable. For more information on cryptocurrency tax reporting, read our guide on crypto taxes.
No, Binance.US Staking does not support XRP. The XRP Ledger confirms transactions through trusted validators rather than proof of stake, so you can't earn staking rewards.
No, you need an ID to buy XRP. Binance.US verifies the identity of every customer before they can buy any asset, as all regulated U.S. exchanges must, and that check also helps keep your account and funds secure.
See the compliance overview for how Binance.US verifies customer identity.
Binance.US sells XRP to customers in every state where it operates, on the web and in the app. Check the supported states list before you sign up, since coverage changes over time, then verify your identity, fund your account, and buy XRP from $2.
No, because XRP is a digital asset, not company stock. Owning XRP doesn't give you a share in Ripple or any other company. On Binance.US you buy XRP itself, which you hold in your account or send to a wallet you control. US-listed exchange-traded products that hold XRP began trading in 2025 and are bought through a brokerage account.
